The 2010 World Series of togel  Poker continues to hit online poker tournaments hard as for the third consecutive week attendance was down in the majority of Sunday’s biggest events.  Over the past week a few big names made deep runs in the smaller events including Men Nguyen, Brandon Adams, Tom Dwan, and Allen Kessler. With Nguyen taking down another bracelet in the $10k Stud Championship and Dwan just missing out on his first a day later in the $1,500 NL event there was plenty of buzz circulating the Rio in Las Vegas last weekend. While Durrrr had a reported $10M+ in prop bets on the line he was unable to finish off Simon Watt who took down the Event #11 crown and more than $614,000.

With the series running so many satellites, $250 deep-stack daily events, and a plethora of $1,000-$2,000 bracelet events there is just way too much action going on at the Rio to keep online tournaments at the level they were pre-2010 WSOP. One of the more alarming occurrences happened early yesterday as for the first time in perhaps the tournament’s existence the Sunday Warm-Up on PokerStars failed to reach its guarantee. Only 3,674 players entered what is typically Sunday’s second biggest event forcing Stars to pay out about $15,000 in overlay.

While the player pool was a bit light the Warm-Up still retained the #2 spot and was set to pay out well over $100,000 to the winner before the final three players decided to chip chop and leave just $10,000 on the table.  Out of the three finalists only one had major final table experience. With a previous 5th place finish in the Second Chance in March, “TommyGunn34″ was more than likely not intimidated by his opponents. The same could be said for “PremiumStud” who has more than $400,000 in cashes on PokerStars alone including a win in the $109r last year for $19,028. In the end it was “hithenose” who took down his more experienced counterparts and earned himself just over $90,000.

Once again the Sunday Million fell well short of its $1,500,000 guarantee as the exact same number (7,309) of entrants were on hand last week as well. This lack of action left PokerStars $38,200 lighter in the pockets as they had to pay out overlay in another big tournament. The final table was a crazy one with the final 5 bust-outs happening within minutes of each other as players became short-stacked and chips started flying.  The final two players took a while to discuss a chip-chop but settled on a deal which left $30,000 for the eventual winner “redsfan9″.  This was by far and away his biggest win on a resume that already included two $30k+ scores from big finishes in the $109 re-buy on PokerStars.  Runner-up “kiaser” was no stranger to major final tables but had not yet hit a huge score. The $175,000 he took for 2nd place easily bested a 6th place finish in this very event for $28,858 all the way back in 2006.

The latest finishing event on PokerStars yesterday was the $500k guaranteed, which much like those before it, failed to reach its guarantee.  While the tournament fared better than it had in recent weeks there were still less than 1,000 players on hand forcing Stars to pay out about $15,000 in prize money. As always the $500k produced a great final table including third-place finisher “All_in_at420″ who is quickly approaching more than $1,500,000 in cashes on the world’s biggest poker site. His previous win this very event is the biggest score on an impressive resume that also includes wins in two other Sunday majors, the Second Chance and $215r.  Matthias “goodvibe1″ Neu was the first to fall at the final table taking home just $5,750 for a hard day’s work.  While for most this would be a huge score it was merely a blip on his radar as he has more than a dozen $20k+ cashes on PokerStars over the past few years including a 2nd in the Warm-up, 3rd in the Million, and a win in the quarter-million.

Runner-up “terrific28″ entered heads-up play with much more experience than his opponent “yoshi-jp” who had yet to hit a five-figure score on Stars. Terrfici28 took down another five-figure score as he earned just over $63,000 when he lost a big cooler with pocket Kings:

Ryan “ryanbluf” Karp headlined the Sunday $215 re-buy final table along with David “SexSeen” Sands and “Sketchy1″. This trio of solid tournament professionals have amassed more than $4,000,000 in tournament cashes on PokerStars over their careers and were looking to add $36,722 more with a win in the $215r. Karp is one of the most solid pros around with about 50 $10k+ scores on his resume including numerous final tables in $1,000 buy-in events and six scores over $30,000. Sands is quickly approaching $1,000,000 in cashes on Stars and has a win in the $500k as well as a 3rd in the Warm-Up to his name. Finally, sketchy1 is another high-stakes tournament grinder with a lot of near misses in big events to go along with a win in the quarter million and the Super Tuesday.

All of that experience was for naught as “Coyotee_gyn” took down ryanbluf heads-up for the title. This was the biggest victory of his career but not his biggest cash as he nearly won the Million back in April, taking 3rd for $140,386.

Finishing off the day at PokerStars was the Sunday Second Chance, which actually was one of just a few tournaments to surpass its guarantee as 1,341 players created a $268,200 prize pool with “nicelife” and “ynd!” eventually chopping the final $85,000 once heads-up play began. Sixth-place finisher “DeuceBuster” took home $11,398 yesterday which helped to boost him over the $1,000,000 mark in career cashes on PokerStars.  In the past he has had a few near misses on Sundays including a 4th in the Million, 2nd in the Warm-Up, 4th in the $500k and 3rd in this very event just a few months ago.

While both heads-up players have had some success on Stars, “nicelife” has had a few huge cashes including a $151,280 score last September and a $81,576 cash in last month’s Spring Championship of Online Poker. Overall he has more than $600,000 in cashes without playing 1,000 events.

Just like the Warm-Up on PokerStars, the Sunday Brawl is a tournament that never fails to reach its guarantee. However, unlike its competitor the Brawl was able to surpass its $400,000 guarantee by more than $50,000 yesterday.  Nearly 20 FullTilt sponsored professionals entered the Brawl including Julian Gardner and Mike “timex” McDonald who finished inside the top 100 in 98th and 81st place respectively.  Other “red pros” on hand included Isaac “menlo” Baron, Ram Vaswani, and David “the dragon” Pham.

The final table had a few familiar faces including “Scary_Tiger” who nearly won the $750k last year taking 4th for $45,386.  Scary_Tiger is not only a solid tournament player but also plays in mid and high-stakes Pot-Limit Omaha cash games on both PokerStars and FullTilt.  Eventual winner “BlackFours” added another big score to a resume that already includes a 5th place finish in this very event and more than $500,000 in other cashes on FullTilt over the past few years.

The Sunday $750,000 Guaranteed fell woefully short of its guarantee again as only 3,205 players entered what is supposed to be FullTilt’s biggest weekly event. With a $200+$16 buy-in and only 3,205 players on the docket, FullTilt had to pay out $109,000 in overlay yesterday. While this was certainly a big hit to their daily profits it is hard to lose sleep over a poker site which can make up this amount of money in rake from their cash games in the near future.  There were plenty of big names on hand including 28 FullTilt professionals including Ram Vaswani, Mike McDonald, Roy Winston, Aaron Bartley, Isaac Baron, Jeff Madsen, and Marco Liesy.

The final table took a while to finish leaving the $750k as the latest finishing major tournament yesterday.  Once all the dust settled “czarcaesarxx” and “SEDOS” were left to battle for the $132,787 first-place check.  Neither player was exactly a model of success on FullTilt but czarcaesarxx did have a few decent cashes to his name entering the final table. Still, there have been plenty of players in the past who have been able to make their first big score in this event and for SEDOS it was no different as a fairly barren resume was severely bolstered when his J7s outran czarcaesarxx’s A6o to take down the $750k crown.

The Sunday Mulligan had an interesting player in the field as world-renowned actor “Mekhi Phifer” who joined FullTilt as part of their ante up for Africa team decided to splash around some chips in the day’s last tournament.  The actor best known for his roles in “ER”, “8 mile”, and currently “Lie to Me” was unable to make the money as he busted rather early in 972nd place. Other professionals joining Phifer were Jeff Madsen, Steve Yea, and Christian Kruel.  The final table ended rather abruptly as the last three players decided to chop up the remaining $110,000 prize pool handing each player around $35,000 in prize money.
