Tinder CEO Faye Iosotaluno steps down in latest shakeup at Match Group

Tinder Chief Executive Officer Faye Iosotaluno will step down in July after less than two years in the role, adding to a string of executive changes at parent company Match Group Inc., which has struggled to return Tinder, its largest dating app brand, to growth.

Iosotaluno announced her upcoming departure from Match in a LinkedIn post on Thursday, ending a nearly eight-year run at the company. Match Group Chief Executive Officer Spencer Rascoff said in a post of his own that they have been working together to prepare for the announcement “over the past few months” to ensure a smooth transition, and that he will step in to lead the Tinder team without naming a CEO replacement.

The departure marks the latest shakeup at both Match and Tinder, its biggest dating app, as Rascoff, who himself took on the top job in February, seeks to keep the company’s multiyear turnaround plans on track amid pressure from activist investors. That includes returning Tinder to revenue growth, a goal that Iosotaluno told investors in December won’t happen until 2027.

Shares of parent company Match rose 1.1% following the announcement.

As part of the turnaround, Rascoff announced a 13% workforce reduction earlier this month to streamline operations and cut costs across the company, whose dating app portfolio also includes Hinge, OkCupid and Match.com. A bulk of the cuts were at Tinder.


Last month, Rascoff said Match’s chief technology officer would be stepping down at the end of May for personal reasons, without immediately naming a replacement. The company also promoted an executive to chief operating officer in April.

In her social media post, Iosotaluno said she wants to continue “supporting and building alongside the next generation of women leaders, founders and investors.”“The consumer tech landscape is evolving in exciting, unpredictable ways – and so are my own ambitions,” she wrote. “With AI now expanding what’s possible, there’s never been a more powerful moment for new voices to create and lead.”

In his LinkedIn post, Rascoff said recent product momentum will continue at Tinder, which has been testing double-dating features in Europe and improved profile discovery with AI.

“With a strong foundation set, we’re focused on what comes next. Tinder’s leadership team is energized and aligned around building products that meet the moment, reflect the evolving needs of our global community, and meet people where they are. This next chapter is about momentum, innovation, and delivering on our full potential,” he wrote.
